Doug
Doug is the centerpiece of the foursome and Bender’s business partner. These guys have all been part of Doug’s life and he’s the one who put the group together. As a result, Doug is always dishing out advice to these guys, but rarely lets on what’s going on with his own life. He’s married with a kid, but hiding something. Something big. Doug may be the best golfer of the group and when his game is on, he can be something of a cocky ass. He takes lessons and gets annoyed when the guys play too slowly.
Bender
Bender is afraid of his wife. Tall, lanky and uncoordinated, he has newborn twins and quite literally gets five hours a week off from responsibility – and he spends those five hours with his friends. Bender’s wife, Whitney, ALWAYS calls during the round, and she’s not too happy that he spends any time with Tim. Bender is quick to snap when his game goes south…which is often. He’s the guy who will often drink the most during the round. Bender wishes he could stand up to Whitney and he’s constantly promising to, but he never will.
Eric
Eric is a freelance computer geek. He lives with Jennifer, his African American girlfriend (whose father, a judge, hates Eric). Eric always has the latest, greatest gadgets and toys. He makes decent amount of money as an early employee with a couple of start-ups, but he’s never been THE GUY who started the company and cashed out forever. Eric is a terrible golfer. It’s never pretty, but he always has the most technically advanced equipment. (And, even though he might play well every now and again – he still can’t quite get his smack talk right, which leads to quite a bit of abuse from the rest of the guys.) Eric is the moral compass of the group, if there is such a thing.
Tim
Tim is in his early 40s and isn’t getting married anytime soon. At one point, he was a romantic, innocent guy, but a tragic relationship event in his mid-20s left him somewhat black-hearted. He’s a purveyor of The Game and The Mystery Method, which has made him quite the pick-up artist. The other three guys – though they love Tim’s stories of conquest – just roll their eyes at his never-ending pursuits. But…they are equally quick to look at the pictures he always has on his phone. Tim is kind of like Cosmo Kramer – he’s got money, but nobody is sure where it came from. Tim doesn’t care what he hits and rarely keeps accurate score…on the course. He ALWAYS hits on the cart girl.
